Ford Fusion (2010–2012) Fuse Box and Relay Locations

Fuses protect the Ford Fusion’s electrical circuits by interrupting current if a circuit is overloaded. Relays act as electrically controlled switches for systems that draw more power. Together, they help protect the vehicle’s wiring and components.

Knowing the Ford Fusion (2010–2012) fuse box location can help when diagnosing a light, power window, radio, or other electrical feature that stops working. Most models have an interior fuse panel and an under-hood power distribution box. Fuse assignments can differ by engine, trim, and whether the vehicle is a Hybrid, so use the diagram for your specific car.

WARNING

  • Never replace a fuse with one that has a higher amperage rating.
  • A fuse with a too-high amperage could damage the electrical part and cause a fire.
  • On no account should fuses be repaired (e.g. patched up with tin foil or wire) as this may cause serious damage elsewhere in the electrical circuit or cause a fire.
  • If a fuse blows repeatedly, do not keep replacing it. Instead, have the cause for the repeated short circuit or overload tracked and fixed.
  • Terminal and harness assignments for individual connectors will vary depending on vehicle equipment level, model, and market.

Checking and Replacing Fuses in Ford Fusion

If electrical components in the vehicle are not working, a fuse may have blown. Blown fuses are identified by a broken wire within the fuse. Check the appropriate fuses before replacing any electrical components. To remove a fuse use the fuse puller tool provided on the fuse panel cover.

Location of Fuse Boxes

Passenger-Compartment Fuse Panel

The interior fuse panel is below and to the left of the steering wheel, near the brake pedal. Switch off the ignition, then remove the access cover to reach the fuses. Release its clips gently to avoid damaging the trim.

Use the markings on the cover or the supplied fuse diagram to identify a fuse by number, circuit, and amperage. Some electrical functions are controlled by relays or electronic components within the interior junction box, and may not have a separately replaceable relay.

Engine-Compartment Fuse and Relay Box

The power distribution box is under the hood, near the battery. With the ignition off, open the hood and locate the covered box. Release the retaining clips and lift off the cover carefully. The cover may include a layout label; compare it with the correct Ford Fusion fuse and relay diagram before removing a fuse or relay.

This box contains many of the vehicle’s higher-current fuses and accessible relays. Some relays may be integrated into a junction module rather than designed for individual replacement. Do not swap relays simply because they look alike—check the diagram and part information first.

Standard gasoline models generally do not have a separate owner-serviceable fuse panel in the trunk. Fusion Hybrid models have high-voltage components as well as ordinary vehicle fuses. Do not touch orange high-voltage cables or open the hybrid battery system.

Conclusion

The main Ford Fusion (2010–2012) fuse box locations are beneath the driver-side dashboard and in the engine compartment near the battery. The under-hood power distribution box contains many of the accessible relays, while some relay functions may be integrated into a junction module.

Use the correct fuse and relay diagram for your model and equipment, and replace fuses only with the specified rating. If you are unsure which component to check—or a fuse keeps blowing—seek help from a qualified technician.
