The Ford Expedition (2003-2006) is a full-size SUV designed for versatility, comfort, and power. The vehicle’s electrical system relies on two primary fuse box locations. The main fuse box is situated in the engine compartment on the driver’s side, protecting essential systems such as the ignition, fuel pump, and powertrain components. The secondary fuse panel is located beneath the dashboard on the driver’s side, managing interior features like the power windows, audio system, and climate control. Relays placed near the fuse boxes control high-power functions such as the starter motor, headlights, and cooling fans. Routine maintenance of fuses and relays ensures the vehicle operates without electrical issues.

WARNING
- Never replace a fuse with one that has a higher amperage rating.
- A fuse with a too-high amperage could damage the electrical part and cause a fire.
- On no account should fuses be repaired (e.g. patched up with tin foil or wire) as this may cause serious damage elsewhere in the electrical circuit or cause a fire.
- If a fuse blows repeatedly, do not keep replacing it. Instead, have the cause for the repeated short circuit or overload tracked and fixed.
- Terminal and harness assignments for individual connectors will vary depending on vehicle equipment level, model, and market.

Passenger Compartment Fuse Panel:
The fuse panel is located under the right-hand side of the instrument panel. To remove the trim panel for access to the fuse box, pull the panel toward you and swing it out away from the side and remove it. To reinstall it, line up the tabs with the grooves on the panel, then push it shut.
To remove the fuse box cover, place a finger behind the PULL tab and your thumb above the PULL tab as shown in the illustration, then pull the cover off.
To reinstall the fuse box cover, place the top part of the cover on the fuse panel, then push the bottom part of the cover until you hear it click shut. Gently pull on the cover to make sure it is seated properly.
