The Chrysler Voyager (2020-2024) features modern conveniences such as advanced infotainment, power sliding doors, and driver-assist technologies like adaptive cruise control and blind-spot monitoring. These features rely on a well-designed electrical system supported by the fuse box and relays.

The fuse box, located under the hood and inside the cabin, protects essential electrical components, including the lighting, entertainment system, and power windows, from damage due to overloads. If a fuse blows, the system is automatically cut off to prevent harm to the vehicle’s electronics.

The relays in the Voyager handle more complex tasks like controlling the starter motor, fuel pump, and various power accessories. These relays act as switches, allowing low-power circuits to control high-power functions. If a relay malfunctions, it could result in issues such as the car not starting or power doors failing to operate.

Regularly checking and maintaining the fuses and relays ensures that the Chrysler Voyager’s advanced features function smoothly, preventing electrical issues that could disrupt the vehicle’s performance and safety systems.

WARNING

  • Never replace a fuse with one that has a higher amperage rating.
  • A fuse with a too-high amperage could damage the electrical part and cause a fire.
  • On no account should fuses be repaired (e.g. patched up with tin foil or wire) as this may cause serious damage elsewhere in the electrical circuit or cause a fire.
  • If a fuse blows repeatedly, do not keep replacing it. Instead, have the cause for the repeated short circuit or overload tracked and fixed.
  • Terminal and harness assignments for individual connectors will vary depending on vehicle equipment level, model, and market.

The Power Distribution Center (PDC) is located in the engine compartment near the battery. Remove the cover by unlatching the two locks located at each side of the PDC cover, avoid using screwdrivers or any other tool to remove the cover, since they may apply excessive force and result in a broken/damaged part.
